CUSD to Poll Support for New Parcel Tax or Bond

The Claremont Unified School District (CUSD) is considering a new facilities bond and parcel tax that would provide the district additional funds to improve local schools.
On Feb.1, the Claremont City Council passed an ordinance to regulate solicitation throughout the city. The ordinance requires solicitors or peddlers from a business or organization seeking to obtain money, funds, or contributions to obtain a permit before they venture into the streets.
The trolley is no longer running in the Village and has been sold to be used for a Disney project in Hawaii.
At the city council meeting on Feb. 9, 2010, city manager Jeff Parker announced that the Claremont Village
Trolley was sold to a Nevada-based company, Specialty Vehicles, for 75,000 dollars and will be shipped to Hawaii.
Modern society has promoted the belief that one can express their individuality via fashion and culture. Popular magazines such as Cosmopolitan promote such ideas, telling readers that it is healthy to express emotions through outward appearance, but some individuals on campus have taken this advice to a whole new level.

The majority of students at CHS spend most of their time completing their homework, working on projects, or staying busy with afterschool sports. As a result, vacations are typically spent sleeping more than usual, watching TV, and catching up on homework. There are a few students, however, who spend their winter vacations skiing and snowboarding.
