News From the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE)

In September 1999 LACOE successfully launched a set of online assessments and Professional Development Resources at www.ncitela.org. The NCITE LA Web site is designed to assist teachers in helping children in grades K-3 to meet or exceed grade level Reading and Math standards, as measured by the California Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program.

The site will provide the basis for instructional intervention and evaluation of program effectiveness for K-3 students. Additional resources are being added to the site regularly to help make it meaningful for all teachers. Each Principal in CUSD has a user name and password to access this valuable Web site.
