Program Features

Career Technical Education

  • The renovation and modernization of the La Puerta site as a satellite campus for Claremont High School
  • The opening of the Culinary Arts, Hotel and Hospitality Academy, and the Construction Tech Institute at the La Puerta site in the fall of 2009
  • The relocation of the Central Kitchen to the La Puerta site in partnership with the Culinary Arts program
  • The addition of a Citrus College supported Esthetician class at the La Puerta campus

World Languages

  • The inclusion of at least one world language at each of the elementary schools
  • The inclusion of at least one critical world language at one of the elementary schools (US Dept. of Education designates Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Arabic and languages in the Indic, Iranian and Turkic families as critical to US national security)
  • The long-term goal of having each school's designated language taught within the school day
  • The mid-range goal of phasing in a junior high language academy to serve as a bridge between the elementary and high school programs
  • The long-term goal of the expansion of World Language offerings at the High School
